LOVE LIFE​

In his second year at Harvard he proposed to a Boston heiress named Alice Sohier. She did not say accepted his proposal. After the let down he quickly became interested in his distant cousin Anna Eleanor Roosevelt.  The two fell deeply in love but there was one obstacle FDR's mother Sara. She was very protective over her son and thought no one was good for him. In 1904, FDR told his mother that he was in love with Eleanor and they planned to marry. Sara insisted that they wait one year. Franklin and Eleanor married on March 17, 1905. President Theodore Roosevelt her uncle gave her away as the bride. Between 1906 and 1916, the Roosevelts had six children, one of who died as an infant.
