 EARLY YEARS

Franklin D Roosevelt was born on Janurary 30, 1882 in Hyde Park, New York. As an infant he was a very sickly causing him to almost not survive his birth. He was born to a bussiness man father named James Roosevelt and his mothers name was Sara Ann Delano. He was his parents only child because his father was older and his mother had a bad pregnancy with Franklin prevented them from having anymore kids. Roosevelt grew up in a wealthy family he lived on a large estate and farm tended by hundreds of workers. He was homeschooled and had limited contact with children his own age. At the age of fourteen his parents sent him to Groton School which was an exclusive private school for the wealthy in Massachusetts. His time spent in Groton wasn't the best because he was not a good athlete or showed a rebellious streak which the school rewarded kids that were. He had neither quality which caused him to not become popular or stand out.
